Cycling Retreat, Marin 2024

In July this year, we hosted our second cycling retreat in Marin, CA with an amazing group of people from around the country. Over four days of epic road riding, three nights of deep breathwork, group circles, authentic sharing and connection, we bonded, explored and grew.

The Experience

My approach to facilitating these experiences is to use the endurance sport and long rides as a way to bond, to have a shared experience of adversity, support and pushing ourselves while being held over the miles on the road. Then we bring that home, our bodies exhausted, our minds at ease, so that we can dive deeper into our Self while in connection with the group through different mindfulness practices and longer, deeper breathwork sessions in the evenings.

We dove in on training, nutrition and fueling. We had great discussions on why we’re pursuing these sports, pushing ourselves and exploring both the conscious and unconsious motivations that drive each of us in different ways. Each person brought a special and unique POV, their own challenges and strengths, and as a group we shared, learned, laughed and cried together over a weekend that none of us will forget.

Special thank you to the brands that supported this weekend: Maurten, Rebbl, Oakley and Rapha.

Marin, California offers some of the best road cycling in the US, including the iconic Mount Tam

Breathwork is a key part of the weekend, utilizing performance enhancing practices, as well as emotional exploration and release.
